Traveling with pets: arriving in or leaving Bodrum
If your holiday includes your pet, a few small preparations around carriers, breaks, and documents go a long way.
Bodrum welcomes many families in summer. Some pets travel easily; others feel stressed. The goal is not a “perfect trip,” but a safer, calmer journey with simple preparation.
A secure carrier or car restraint helps in sudden stops. Short breaks, water, and a familiar blanket or toy can soften the ride. Trial short drives help before a longer journey.
Never leave a pet in a closed, sunny car. Bodrum heat builds quickly — ventilation and shade matter. At stops, keep a leash handy and check ID (microchip / tag).
Even for domestic trips, bringing the vaccine booklet and any medication list helps if you need a clinic elsewhere. For flights or international travel, rules vary by airline and route — research early.
After travel, mild tiredness or a quiet appetite for a few hours can happen; message us if you are worried. Pawspital is glad to stay in touch during your Bodrum stay.
