After-summer check: holiday’s over — how is your pet?

After a busy summer, a short check-in helps catch small changes early — practical, not alarming.

Summer in Bodrum and Turgutreis means guests, walks, and hot days. As the season eases, small shifts in pace, appetite, or skin can appear — but “it will pass” is not always safe. This article does not diagnose; it is a calm end-of-summer checklist.

Parasites and skin: After gardens, trails, or beach paths, keep tick / flea checks in mind. If itching, redness, or hair loss lasts a few days, ask the clinic. Don’t copy a neighbor’s product — species and age matter; veterinary advice is safer.

Water, appetite, energy: Extra thirst, appetite loss, lethargy, or vomiting lasting a few days deserves a call. Summer tiredness and illness can look alike; a short exam clarifies.

Vaccines and reminders: Busy summers often push vaccine or parasite appointments. Check the booklet; if a dose is due or missing, WhatsApp us. An annual check fits this season well too.

Turgutreis Pawspital in Bahçelievler is open every day 09:00 – 23:00. For post-holiday or end-of-season questions, call +90 530 611 48 96 or WhatsApp — we will map a calm next step together.
