In short
Occasional vomit with a bright cat afterwards differs from repeated, bloody or exhausting vomiting, or stopping food.
If you suspect a toxin, see the list and call. No appetite: cat not eating.
Do not
No human stomach medicine, salt-water forcing, or “starve it out” past a day — cats risk hepatic lipidosis with long fasting.
Urgent
Breathing trouble, a swollen belly, known toxin, a kitten or a senior with repeated vomiting: emergency guide.

Cat not eating
In cats, especially overweight cats, fasting risks hepatic lipidosis. Dental pain can also hide.
Diarrhoea in cats
A single softer stool is not always illness. Watery, bloody or days-long diarrhoea — especially in a kitten — is not a wait-and-see job. Do not give human or dog medicine.
Toxic foods list: what to watch for in dogs and cats
Chocolate, grapes, onion… A small “treat” from the table can be risky. A short list and what to do.
When to see an emergency vet
Breathing failure, collapse, trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, blocked urination, suspected poison. Stop reading and call.
What should a healthy cat look like?
There is no single ideal photo of a healthy cat. Your cat’s usual rhythm is the baseline.
