Imaging helps assess structures you cannot see from the outside. It is not required at every visit. The veterinarian explains whether it is useful for your pet’s signs.
When it comes up
Lameness, suspected trauma, abdominal discomfort or other exam findings may lead to imaging. The decision is individual.
Bring prior films or reports if you have them; it can avoid a repeat.
What to expect
Positioning and duration depend on the animal. Calm handling and any extra prep are explained. Findings are shared in plain language.
This page does not list which modality is used when; that depends on the clinic and the case.
